Frequently Asked Questions

Is GoodSkin MD dermatologist tested?

All GoodSkin MD products have been dermatologist tested.

Is GoodSkin MD hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin?

For over 185 years, safety has been at the heart of what P&G does. Before considering an ingredient or marketing a product, we apply the highest scientific safety standards, often exceeding those of leading independent and regulatory authorities, to ensure every ingredient’s safety and that all products are safe and recognized as safe by scientists, NGOs, and consumers. Our GoodSkin MD skin care products were designed for individuals with sensitive skin by avoiding known allergens and sensitizers. The GoodSkin MD products have been clinically tested to be safe for sensitive skin.

Is GoodSkin MD fragrance free?

All GoodSkin MD products are fragrance free.

Is GoodSkin MD alcohol free?

Some ingredients used in GoodSkin MD products are listed as alcohols. Some of these ingredients are completely different from the alcohols found in alcoholic drinks; they are sometimes not specified as alcohols and in fact they can be solids i.e. fatty alcohols. They are often derived from renewable plant sources and can be used as conditioning agents or as preservatives which keep the product free from contamination.

Does GoodSkin MD test on animals?

We do not test GoodSkin MD products on animals and P&G is calling for an end to animal testing in skin care and the beauty industry. P&G is working closely with governments around the world to provide alternative research methods to eliminate testing on animals, enabling cruelty-free skin care in the beauty industry. P&G also supports the Humane Society International’s #BeCrueltyFree campaign to ban animal testing for cosmetics in all major global beauty markets by 2023. Are GoodSkin MD products/ingredients natural/organic/sustainable/synthetic?

Terms like natural, organic, and sustainable are broadly used in beauty. But many of these terms lack clear definitions or agreed upon standards. Perhaps more importantly, a focus in one area can lead to a trade-off or unintended consequence in another. Natural ingredients are not necessarily safe or sustainable. Contradictory messages about synthetic and natural materials can make you worry about allergic reactions or be surprised that some nature-identical materials are more sustainable than alternatives sourced from natural resources.

At P&G Beauty, we believe you shouldn’t have to make these types of trade-offs. And so we set out to design a new standard to help ensure that positive benefits in one area wouldn’t come with unintended consequences elsewhere.

When does my product expire?

There is a difference between expiration date and recommended shelf life, and you may notice that GoodSkin MD facial cleanser, creams and serums don't have an expiration date. Here's some additional information that we hope is helpful.

For products with an expiration date:
In the United States skin care products that contain sunscreen will have an expiration date on the packaging. The expiration date will be printed on the container's label and outer carton. Our research shows that if stored properly, the ingredients are stable until the expiration date.

Shelf life of products without an expiration date:
Most unopened GoodSkin MD products have a shelf life of 2-3 years from the date they were manufactured. Additionally, we recommend storing GoodSkin MD skin care products in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.
